Noosa Kitesurfing Sunshine Coast

FAQ, Equipment and Home truths

When Kiteboarding or kite surfing first came to Australia it was considered an extreme and dangerous sport. The types of kites used and safety systems were what we now consider to be outrageously hard to use.

With modern day equipment and the advancement of Lesson Structure it is no longer considered a dangerous sport, Only the person flying the kite, just like the person driving and not the car is the danger.

Common Myths are that strength is required and that it is hard. The skill is in the kite and it is something that requires finesse as opposed to strength. With the right technique there is no pressure on the body as it is focused through the harness.

That makes this sport accessible to young and old, girls and boys.

The learning curve is steep and within a few hours your nearly there, compared to windsurfing or surfing it is a walk in the park.

You might think you can teach yourself but your chances of seriously hurting yourself or others increases by about 1 million percent, maybe more. The money you spend on lessons is small in comparison the the value of life. The Kitesurfing lessons take out the extreme and teach you how to be safe. There are things that you just cant figure out on your own. The first generation of kiters got bashed and batterd and several lives were lost doing just that, figuring it out, now we have the knowledge to prevent other people from having to go down that path. So it doesn’t matter how good a surfer you are, or skateboarder, or wakeboarder, or sheep shearer or anything else that doesn’t involve flying a kite, you need lessons. Its all about the kite and the right skills to get you up and going. We can make your KiteSurfing experience worthwhile, memorable, and fun.
